Fresh lavender everything

fresh lavender from our farm

A fresh harvest of lavender means we are doing lavender everything. It’s been a great year for lavender but this round in particular was carefully tended to through the cold both in the greenhouse and in Chris’s house under lights. Very special to have this fresh!

DRY YOUR OWN

Lavender dries very easily. Simply make a bundle and dry right side up or upside down. It will last so long as you don’t squish it!

MAKE A LAVENDER ROOM SPRAY

A lavender hydrosol literally cleans the air. You can make it from just water and fresh lavender buds. It’s antiseptic, is a great spray for your linens and clothes, and it’s also wonderful for your skin if you need a little refresher. Too much work? Green Eyed Lady made one for you, too.

BAKED GOODS GALORE

Lavender makes for an incredible buttercream, a wonderful scone, and a very delicious lemon lavender loaf. There’s also these lavender earl grey cookies, this lavender vanilla cake, or these lavender cinnamon sugared candied nuts.

LEMON & LAVENDER CHICKEN

Lavender as an herb is a divine addition to your weekly roast. This lemon and lavender chicken will knock your socks off. Just lemon, honey, olive oil and some lavender.

LAVENDER SIMPLE SYRUP

Make this lavender syrup with whichever sweetener you prefer, and use as you would any other simple syrup. Great in a latte, in your tea, on your pancakes, waffles, cocktails, mocktails, or drizzle onto your rotisserie chicken and add a bit of lemon juice for an easy remake of the recipe above.

LAVENDER INFUSIONS

Infuse your oils for a very lovely skincare regimen, honey for a yummy treat, vodka or gin for a doubly medicinal drink.
